On the afternoon of January 3, 2025, 17-year-old African American male Desmond Dayshawn Drew was fatally shot on Willie Hodge Road in Marion County, South Carolina. The incident prompted an immediate investigation by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. Desmond, a resident of Mullins, South Carolina, was remembered by community members as a friendly and humorous individual.
