Limber Gomez Rivera, a 27-year-old male, tragically lost his life following a violent encounter in Cincinnati, Ohio, on December 28, 2024. The incident unfolded in Mount Echo Park, where Rivera was involved in a minor collision with a vehicle registered to 25-year-old Rasu Amir Salaam. Following the crash, Rivera drove to another area of the park, where he was fatally shot.
Witnesses at the scene immediately contacted emergency services, and Rivera was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Despite undergoing surgery, he succumbed to his injuries the following day, December 29, 2024.
Authorities swiftly launched an investigation into the shooting, gathering video surveillance footage and other physical evidence from the park and Salaam’s residence. On January 2, 2025, the Cincinnati Police Department’s Homicide Unit, with assistance from the SWAT team, arrested Salaam and charged him with murder. Court documents indicate that after the collision, Salaam initially drove away from the scene, stopping briefly to inspect the damage to his vehicle before proceeding home. However, the evidence collected by investigators linked him to the fatal shooting of Rivera.
Salaam, who has a prior weapons conviction from 2018, was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center. His bond has been set at $1 million, and he is scheduled to appear in court to face the charges against him. The case remains under investigation as authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding Rivera’s death.
