On the night of March 2, 2025, 18-year-old African American male Davorius Montraze Mack Jr. was fatally shot while seated in a vehicle at the intersection of Security Lane and Lucas Bay Road in the Bucksport area of Horry County, South Carolina. Emergency responders administered lifesaving measures at the scene before transporting him to Conway Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 11:53 p.m.
