James D. Land, a 47-year-old man from Manchester, Ohio, was found dead early on the morning of January 26, 2025. Authorities responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 4:42 a.m. in the 300 block of E 7th Street. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Land suffering from fatal injuries, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses provided information about a suspect vehicle leaving the area, which led law enforcement to identify and arrest Jason Strain, a 43-year-old man from
Bowling Green, Kentucky. Strain was taken into custody in Kentucky and is currently being held in Warren County Jail on charges related to the incident. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to gather evidence and determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
