On February 26, 2025, at approximately 4:36 p.m., law enforcement officers responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex located on Blakewell Lane in Columbus, Ohio. Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims, Antwan Lewis, a 42-year-old Black male, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, Harold Forrest, a 31-year-old Black male, was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his
injuries.
Authorities launched an investigation into the double homicide, leading to the identification and subsequent arrests of two suspects. Abdou Seye, a 33-year-old male from Canal Winchester, and Brandon Colbert, a 33-year-old male from Columbus, were both charged with two counts of murder in connection with the deaths of Lewis and Forrest. According to court records, Colbert admitted to driving an SUV to the apartment complex at the time of the shooting, dropping off an unidentified individual before parking the vehicle nearby. He then walked toward the apartment, meeting the unidentified male halfway before both fled the scene together.
Seye was apprehended by U.S. Marshals in Detroit and was being held in the Wayne County Jail in Michigan, awaiting extradition to Franklin County. Colbert was arrested shortly after and appeared in court, where his bond was set at $500,000. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to gather evidence and determine the full circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
