In the winter of 2025, the life of 55-year-old Sinh Nguyen, an Asian male, was tragically cut short in Oklahoma City. On the afternoon of Friday, February 7th, a call was made to police to check on the welfare of an individual inside a vehicle in the 2400 block of South MacArthur Boulevard. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Mr. Nguyen deceased, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
The initial stages of the investigation into the city's fourth homicide of the year moved swiftly.
Investigators were able to identify a person of interest. Later, a traffic stop was conducted near Northwest 50th and MacArthur where the suspect, Angel Luis Mares, was taken into custody in connection with the shooting.
While an arrest has been made, the investigation remains in its early stages. Authorities have encouraged anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and contact the Homicide Tip-Line. The circumstances that led to the fatal shooting have not yet been released to the public.
