On February 4, 2017, 57-year-old Patrick Kelly O’Brien was found fatally stabbed in a parking lot on West Sahara Avenue in Las Vegas. Police discovered him unresponsive around 11:20 p.m., and he was pronounced dead at the scene. His death was one of many homicides in the city that year, contributing to a rise in violent crime during 2017. Authorities initiated an investigation but did not release many details about possible suspects. The case remains under investigation.
