On a day in early May of 2017, a grim discovery was made near Nelson's Landing at the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Ernest Gomez, a 47-year-old male. An autopsy revealed the brutal nature of his death; he had sustained a gunshot wound to the head and suffered from blunt-force trauma. His death was officially ruled a homicide, launching a search for the person or persons responsible for such a violent end.
The investigation led authorities to a suspect a little over a week later. On May 13, 54-year-old Edward Bedrosian was arrested in connection with the murder of Gomez. He was subsequently charged with murder with a deadly weapon and held at the Clark County Detention Center without bail.
