Jon Ernest Gomez, 57, was murdered, and his body was found encased in concrete at Nelson's Landing in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area on May 2, 2017. The discovery was made after workers in the area noticed a foul smell and uncovered a tarp partially buried in the desert.
