In the east end of Louisville, a sense of normalcy was shattered on the afternoon of January 28, 2025. Inside a home on Malvern Hill Road, just off Westport Road, a violent encounter left 19-year-old Davion A. Charles with a fatal gunshot wound. The young man was found by police who were responding to a shooting call at approximately 2:25 p.m. First responders rendered aid until he could be rushed to the University of Louisville Hospital, but his injuries proved too severe, and he died there.
