In the late hours of a Wednesday evening in Louisville, Kentucky, tragedy struck in the Parkland neighborhood, forever altering the lives of two families. On August 11, 2010, Pernell Antonio Dillard Sr., a 30-year-old male, was killed in a brazen act of violence that also claimed the life of his childhood friend, John Beamus. The two men were together in the front yard of Beamus's home on 28th Street when they were fatally shot.
