On a Sunday evening in Pembroke, what should have been a peaceful night was shattered by an act of violence that claimed the life of 31-year-old Cicara Chantel James. Deputies and emergency medical services were dispatched to a residence in the 6000 block of Pembroke-Oak Grove Road at approximately 8 p.m. following a 911 call.
Upon their arrival, they discovered a tragic scene. Cicara was found deceased, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
The man who was present at the home, 34-year-old Anthony Moore, was found sitting on the porch. He and Cicara resided at the home together and were parents to children who were present in the house at the time of the incident.
Moore was taken into custody at the scene. He allegedly admitted to the shooting. Following the incident, he was lodged in the Christian County Jail. He faces charges of first-degree murder and first-degree wanton endangerment as the Christian County Sheriff's Department continues its investigation into the matter.
