On January 5, 2025, Adrian Prado, a 17-year-old Latino male, was found deceased on a sidewalk in Los Angeles County. The incident was recorded as the county's first homicide of 2025, with the formal pronouncement of death made at 3:12 p.m. that Sunday afternoon. The Los Angeles County Coroner's office identified the young man and assigned case number 2025-00267 to the investigation.
