Authorities responded to a 911 call from her husband, 46-year-old Rogelio Prestol, who admitted to shooting her. The incident occurred in the South Gulf Cove neighborhood, where deputies found Jhesandra Prestol lying on the walkway near the front door, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
According to reports, Rogelio Prestol had suspected his wife of infidelity for two months prior to the shooting. He allegedly discovered that she had been communicating with someone on TikTok and Telegram and confronted her about it. When she expressed her desire for a divorce, tensions escalated. On the night of the incident, Rogelio demanded that Jhesandra unlock her phone to show her bank account activity. When she refused, he retrieved a firearm and pointed it at her in an attempt to intimidate her into complying.
The situation took a deadly turn when Jhesandra attempted to escape by climbing out of a window. Rogelio opened fire, continuing to shoot until he ran out of ammunition. Their children, who were present in the home, witnessed the horrifying event but were physically unharmed. After the shooting, Rogelio called his brother, repeatedly stating that he had killed his wife and contemplated taking his own life. His brother convinced him to call 911 instead.
Authorities arrested Rogelio Prestol and charged him with second-degree murder.
