Maria Rangel, a 38-year-old woman, was fatally shot in the early hours of March 1, 2025, in Port Charlotte, Florida. The incident occurred at the home of her grandfather, 67-year-old Jose Mogro, who had taken her in to help her get back on track. According to reports, Rangel had recently moved from Texas to stay with her grandparents.
