Linda Farzan-Kashani, a 54-year-old White/Caucasian woman, was fatally shot on the evening of February 5, 2025, in Encino, California. The incident occurred at approximately 7:25 p.m. in the 5100 block of Hesperia Avenue, near the intersection of Lindley Avenue and Ventura Boulevard. Authorities have ruled her death a homicide. The suspect in the case is her husband, 64-year-old Shaharam Farzan, who was arrested shortly after the shooting.

According to reports, Linda Farzan-Kashani had been visiting the home of Rabbi Bijan Zangan and his wife, Natalie, along with her 13-year-old son. The couple had been offering her support for months, as she had filed for divorce from her husband in November 2022, seeking spousal and child support. Witnesses stated that Linda Farzan-Kashani and her husband were arguing inside their SUV when she exited the vehicle, possibly in an attempt to de-escalate the situation. However, her husband allegedly followed her and opened fire, shooting her multiple times until she collapsed on the street.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots, initially mistaking them for construction noises or fireworks. One neighbor described hearing "pop, pop, pop, pop, pop" in rapid succession. After the shooting, Linda Farzan-Kashani’s son ran toward Rabbi Zangan’s house, screaming for help. The suspect, identified as her husband, was seen fleeing the scene and was apprehended two blocks away on Ventura Boulevard. He is currently being held on a $3 million bail.

The tragic incident has left the couple’s children in the care of their grandparents in Woodland Hills. A fundraising campaign has been launched to support them, with a goal of raising $300,000. Friends and community members have expressed their grief, describing Linda Farzan-Kashani’s death as a devastating loss. Her close friend, Natalie Zangan, who had been offering her support, is reportedly heartbroken over the tragedy.
