Jabari Bryant, a 37-year-old African American male, was fatally shot in the early hours of March 6, 2025, in the West Little River neighborhood of Northwest Miami-Dade. Authorities responded to the scene at Northwest 89th Street and Northwest 22nd Avenue after receiving a ShotSpotter alert at approximately 3:51 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Bryant suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the face.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Witnesses reported hearing a barrage of gunfire, estimating between 15 to 20 shots. One local resident, who chose to remain anonymous, described the neighborhood as a place where gun violence is unfortunately common. He noted that people frequently gather in the area, making noise throughout the night, and expressed his frustration over the recurring violence.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the shooting, but as of now, no suspects have been identified or arrested. Law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information to come forward. Detective H. Monegro of the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation, and tips can be submitted anonymously through Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
Bryant, who worked as an independent contractor, was remembered by friends and family as a hardworking individual. His funeral service was scheduled to take place at Seller Memorial United Methodist Church. The community continues to grapple with the tragedy, hoping for justice and an end to the cycle of violence that has plagued the area.
