In an apparent murder-suicide in Austell, Georgia, 19-year-old Faith Lewis, who was four months pregnant, was found deceased from a gunshot wound on the evening of Wednesday, April 9, 2025. The incident occurred at a residence on Red Cloud Court.
Authorities discovered 24-year-old Tyler Staton at the scene, seated on the floor with a pistol between his legs and a gunshot wound to his head. Staton was transported to a local hospital where he later died. Investigators with the Cobb County Police Department are treating the case as a homicide and have indicated there are no outstanding suspects.
Family members described Lewis as a kind and beautiful soul who had a passion for graphic design. She had graduated from a Cobb County school in 2024 and had just turned 19 in March of 2025. Lewis and Staton had reportedly been in a relationship for approximately one year. Her family expressed their devastation over the loss of both Faith and her unborn child, with her aunt calling the act a cowardly decision.
