On April 18, 2025, 20-year-old Nana Jeff Silva, a young mother from Hanford, California, was fatally shot during a violent home invasion robbery. The incident occurred just after midnight at her residence on Holt Avenue. According to police reports, a group of men entered Silva’s home and opened fire, leaving dozens of spent shell casings scattered from the front of the house to nearly 30 yards down the street. Silva was found inside the doorway of her home with a gunshot wound and was rushed to a local hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries on April 22.
Silva, described by her mother as a loving and outgoing young woman, was the mother of two young children—a toddler and a five-month-old baby. Her family is devastated by the loss, with her mother expressing heartbreak over the fact that her youngest child will never get to know her. Witnesses reported that Silva pleaded with the attackers, begging them not to harm her because there were children present. Investigators believe she was an innocent bystander caught in the violence, though they suspect the attack was targeted.
Authorities are actively investigating the case as a homicide and are searching for video footage of the attack. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the suspects remain at large.
