On the evening of April 25, 2025, authorities responded to a shooting at an apartment complex on La Glorieta in Mission Viejo, California. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Miguel Joaquin Mata, a 39-year-old male resident of Mission Viejo, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders from the Orange County Fire Authority provided medical assistance and transported Mata to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
