Corey Banks, a 24-year-old resident of Long Beach, California, was shot and killed on the evening of October 15, 2011. The incident occurred just before 9:00 PM near 53rd Street and Atlantic Avenue, where officers responding to reports of gunfire found three men suffering from gunshot wounds. Banks was transported to a hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
