Maurice Anthony Rock, a 37-year-old man, was last seen alive in July or August of 1984. His remains were discovered on June 6, 1985, in Wilseyville, Calaveras County, California. Maurice Rock was murdered by a pair of serial killers, Leonard Lake and Charles Ng, who were responsible for a series of gruesome crimes during the early 1980s.
Leonard Lake and Charles Ng were known for their sadistic and violent acts, which included kidnapping, torture, and murder. They operated out of a remote cabin in Calaveras County, California, where they carried out their crimes. Lake, a survivalist with a disturbing fascination for captivity and control, partnered with Ng, a Hong Kong-born accomplice, to commit these heinous acts. Their victims included men, women, and children, many of whom were subjected to unimaginable suffering before being killed.
Upon being arrested on unrelated charges in 1985, Leonard Lake swallowed cyanide pills that he had sewn into his clothing and died four days later.
