Wayne Joseph Dukett

Wayne Joseph Dukette, a 30-year-old gay Caucasian male, was found deceased on October 5, 1971, near Ortega Highway in southern Orange County, California. His nude and decomposing body was discovered in a ravine, with no clothing or identification present. Due to the advanced state of decomposition, the coroner was unable to determine an exact cause of death, though a high blood alcohol content suggested alcohol poisoning as a possible factor.

At the time of his death, Dukette was employed as a bartender at The Stables, a bar in Sunset Beach, California. He was last seen leaving the establishment, and his car was later found in the bar's parking lot. The circumstances surrounding his death remained unclear, and no immediate suspects were identified.

Years later, investigators linked Dukette's death to Randy Kraft, a serial killer known as the 'Scorecard Killer,' who was active in California during the 1970s and early 1980s. Kraft was convicted of 16 murders and is suspected of many more. Although Dukette is believed to be Kraft's first victim, Kraft was never formally charged or convicted in connection with Dukette's death.

The case remains officially unsolved, with no arrests made in relation to Dukette's death. Despite the passage of time and the association with Kraft, the lack of concrete evidence has left the case open, and it continues to be a subject of interest for investigators and true crime researchers.
