E.Z. Willis, a 70-year-old man from Cherryville, North Carolina, was tragically murdered on August 5, 1991. His death was part of a series of brutal killings committed by Phillip Lee Ingle, a convicted serial killer who targeted elderly couples in the area. Ingle, who was known for his violent tendencies and history of mental health issues, broke into the home of E.Z. Willis and his wife, Sarah Willis, 67, and beat them to death.
