Mary Haracamp, a young white woman from Chicago, Illinois, met a tragic end on May 5, 1888, at the hands of H. H. Holmes, one of America's earliest known serial killers. At the time of her death, Mary was employed by Holmes as a stenographer, a position that placed her in close proximity to his nefarious activities within his infamous 'Murder Castle.'
