Howard Robert Pitezel, an 8-year-old boy, met a tragic and gruesome fate in 1894. His remains were discovered in a chilling manner—charred and blackened bones stuffed into a chimney in the cellar of a house linked to the infamous H. H. Holmes. Holmes, a notorious con artist and serial killer, was suspected of murdering Howard as part of his broader criminal activities.
