Betty Sue Harris, a 37-year-old African American woman from Pomona, California, was found strangled to death on November 1, 1993, behind an industrial building in Diamond Bar. Her tragic death was part of a series of homicides that terrorized communities along the Pomona Freeway during the early 1990s. At the time of her murder, Betty Sue Harris was battling cancer and had a history of petty crimes. Despite her struggles, she had resolved to spend her remaining time being a good mother.
