Lydia Hauptreif, a 12-year-old girl, tragically passed away on April 7, 1923, under mysterious circumstances. Her death was the first in a series of fatalities within the Hauptreif family, which later raised suspicions and led to a criminal investigation. Lydia, along with her siblings, suffered from severe pain, vomiting, and diarrhea before succumbing to an unknown illness.
