In the early hours of August 22, 2007, the life of 17-year-old Anthony Walker was tragically cut short in St. Louis, Missouri. The young man, a male, was discovered along the railroad tracks in the 6000 block of Gladys Avenue, the victim of a fatal shooting. Responding to calls of shots fired just before 2 a.m., police found Walker with two gunshot wounds to the back of his neck.
Near his body, a pick-up truck sat riddled with bullets, all of its windows shot out.
The initial investigation suggested a terrifying chase had preceded the discovery. It appeared that several males in another vehicle had pursued the truck, firing multiple shots. The violence seemed to have started in the 5600 block of Mimika Avenue, with more shots being heard at the intersection of Mimika and Gladys.
In the immediate aftermath of the incident, the St. Louis police were actively investigating the homicide. However, on that Wednesday morning, no suspects had been identified or taken into custody.
