Ashley Ellerin, a 22-year-old Caucasian woman, was tragically murdered on February 21, 2001, in her Hollywood home. Ellerin was a fashion student at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles and had aspirations of becoming a prominent designer. On the night of her death, she had plans to attend a Grammy after-party with actor Ashton Kutcher, whom she had met through friends.
