William Bryant Tatum, a 20-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on July 29, 1978, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Tatum, a junior varsity basketball player at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, was described as a quiet individual who loved basketball and enjoyed teasing his friends and family.
