On July 4, 2017, Daniel Reeves, a 34-year-old white male from Wilmington, North Carolina, was found deceased in a wooded area near a highway. Reeves, a truck driver, had last been seen at a roadside diner, and evidence suggested he had been overpowered and subdued before being strangled.
