Joshua Durocher, a six-month-old infant, tragically lost his life on April 18, 1983, in Clay County, Florida. The circumstances surrounding his death were harrowing and deeply unsettling. Joshua, a white male, was one of the victims of a series of murders committed by Michael Alan Durocher, who was later convicted and executed for his crimes. Michael Durocher, who was 33 years old at the time of his execution in 1993, was responsible for the deaths of five individuals, including his own son, Joshua.

The events leading to Joshua's death were part of a broader pattern of violence perpetrated by Michael Durocher. In 1983, Durocher murdered his girlfriend, Grace Reed, her five-year-old daughter, Candice, and his infant son, Joshua. The method of murder was particularly brutal; Durocher shot the victims and buried their bodies in a remote area of Clay County. The bodies were not discovered until 1990, seven years after the murders took place. Durocher later confessed to these killings, among others, and provided authorities with a map indicating the location of the graves.

Michael Durocher's actions led to a series of legal proceedings and investigations. He was indicted for three counts of first-degree murder in early 1991. During his trial, Durocher chose to plead guilty against the advice of his attorney and instructed his counsel not to present any mitigating evidence during the penalty phase. The jury unanimously recommended the death penalty for each of the three murders, and the court imposed the sentences accordingly. Durocher was executed by electrocution on August 25, 1993, becoming the 32nd person to be executed in Florida since the state resumed capital punishment in 1979.

The case of Joshua Durocher and the other victims highlights the devastating impact of Michael Durocher's crimes and the subsequent legal actions that sought to bring justice for the lives lost. The discovery of the bodies years after the murders and Durocher's eventual confession provided some closure to the tragic events that unfolded in 1983.
