Debra May Helmick, a 9-year-old Caucasian girl, was abducted and murdered on June 14, 1985. She was playing outside her home in Richland County, South Carolina, when a car drove up, and the driver kidnapped her in broad daylight. Despite the police's best efforts to trace the kidnapper and bring Debra back safely, they were unable to do so.
