Jacob S. Floyd Jr., a 22-year-old male from Alice, Texas, was tragically killed on September 8, 1952. He died from gunshot wounds to his forehead and wrist at P & S Hospital. The incident occurred at his home located at 320 East Fourth Street. The murder is believed to have been a political assassination, with Jacob S. Floyd Jr., also known as "Buddy," being mistaken for his father, Jacob S. Floyd Sr., who was an outspoken enemy of George Parr, a prominent political figure in the area.
