On October 26, 2008, police in St. Louis, Missouri, responded to a shooting in the 2900 block of Hebert Street, located in the northern part of the city. Upon arrival, authorities found a male victim, Cortez Johnson, who had been struck by gunfire while standing on a porch. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead. The incident was determined to be a drive-by shooting carried out in a neighborhood associated with the 'Sullivan Mob' or 'Beam Street' faction.
