Lieutenant Claton Morris Medrano, aged 51, was a dedicated officer with the Harrison County Sheriff's Department in Texas. On April 27, 2001, while serving a mental commitment warrant at a house near Hallsville, he was fatally shot by a suspect wielding a fully automatic AK-47. Medrano's partner was also wounded in the attack. The suspect then fled to his parent's home and committed suicide shortly after.
