Deputy Sheriff Jimmy Bruce Graham, aged 54, was shot and killed on June 17, 2001, while serving four misdemeanor warrants on a suspect in Canadian, Texas. Graham, a dedicated officer with the Hemphill County Sheriff's Department, had served for 14 years. He was fatally wounded as he exited his cruiser, and the suspect, who had warrants for assault and making a false police report, opened fire.
