Michael Berry, a 50-year-old man from Sweetwater, Texas, died on June 26, 2014, following a tragic standoff with police. The incident began when Berry allegedly stole a front-end loader from L.R. Sells and Sons Scrap Iron, and later a bulldozer from another business. Police reviewed surveillance footage and identified Berry as the suspect. When officers attempted to contact him at his trailer home, Berry barricaded himself inside and refused to come out.
