Omar Ruiz, a 24-year-old Hispanic male, tragically lost his life on November 27, 2014, in Weir, Texas. He was killed during a party at a trailer park in Williamson County on Thanksgiving Day. The incident occurred when Jose Benitez, a line cook at Dos Salsas restaurant in Cedar Park, where both Ruiz and the other victim, Yazmin Corona, worked, shot and killed them. Benitez had been texting Corona during the party, and when he saw Corona and Ruiz talking about the texts, he became enraged. Ruiz's ...
