G. Holton Ingram, Jr., a 73-year-old Caucasian male from Franklin, Texas, passed away on March 5, 2015. He was a lifelong resident of Franklin and was well-known in the community for his work in cattle ranching and as a previous owner of the Calvert Commission Company. Holton was also a board member of the First National Bank of Franklin and was involved in raising watermelons. He was a Baptist and is survived by his two grandchildren, Steven Todd Johnson and Cody Ingram Johnson.
On the night of his death, Holton Ingram was shot by his wife, Brenda Ingram, in their home. When police arrived, Brenda was standing in the driveway and admitted to shooting him. Holton was found in the living room with a gunshot wound to the face and was transported to St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan, where he was pronounced dead. Brenda Ingram was taken into custody and charged with murder. She was booked at the Robertson County jail with a bond set at $100,000. The case drew significant attention in Franklin, and the investigation was led by Franklin police and the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office.
