Darren H. Goforth, a 47-year-old white male, was a deputy sheriff in Harris County, Texas. On the night of August 28, 2015, he was ambushed and shot to death while pumping gas at a Chevron station in Cypress, Texas. Goforth, who was in uniform at the time, was approached from behind by Shannon J. Miles, a 30-year-old black male, who shot him multiple times.
