Robert Mata, a 53-year-old man from Ben Bolt, Texas, was tragically found dead on October 20, 2015, near County Road 464. His death was part of a double homicide, with the other victim being Marcelino Guerra, aged 50. The Jim Wells County Sheriff's Department began investigating the case the following day after receiving a 911 call about a vehicle on fire on nearby County Road 148.
