On June 29, 2017, San Antonio Police Officer Miguel Moreno, a 32-year-old Hispanic male, was fatally shot during a routine patrol near the intersection of Evergreen and Howard Streets. Officer Moreno and his partner, Officer Julio Cavazos, were investigating two individuals near a vehicle that appeared to have been broken into.
