Joey Donted Gipson, a 22-year-old male from Nacogdoches, Texas, tragically lost his life on January 9, 2017, during a home invasion. The incident occurred in the 700 block of Arthur Weaver Street, where Gipson was shot by intruders. At the time of the incident, there were four other individuals in the house, including a 3-year-old and a 4-year-old, but fortunately, none of them were injured.
