On July 8, 2018, a tragic incident occurred in northwest Houston, Texas, when 2-year-old Christopher Williams Jr. accidentally shot himself in the head with an unsecured 9 mm semi-automatic pistol. The child's father, Christopher Williams Sr., aged 35, was charged with a misdemeanor for making a firearm accessible to a child.
