Born on March 24, 1959, in Hereford, Texas, to Kenneth and Donnie Walker Gooch, she pursued a Bachelor of Nursing from West Texas State University. Following her graduation, Annette embarked on a dedicated career in nursing in Lubbock. In 1994, she founded Phoenix Home Care Service, through which she passionately served the home health community, impacting numerous lives in Lubbock County and
its surrounding areas. She is survived by her daughter, Tara Scarborough; her mother, Donnie Sue Gooch; and her brother, Keith Gooch, along with his family. Annette was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Truman Gooch, and her brother, Ronald Dale Gooch.
A time of fellowship and remembrance was held on January 4, 2019, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers in Lubbock. The following day, a celebration of her life took place at the same venue, followed by a graveside service at West Park Cemetery in Hereford, Texas. Family and friends were invited to share memories and expressions of sympathy during these services.
