In the late hours of October 19, 2013, the life of 22-year-old Rufai Abdulaziz Mohamed, a Black male, was tragically cut short in St. Louis, Missouri. Officers from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to a neighborhood following reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mohamed suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical personnel were summoned to the scene, but Mohamed’s injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead. The Homicide Division immediately opened an investigation into the shooting. Despite their efforts in the initial stages of the investigation and in the years that have followed, no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with his murder.
