On the night of March 14, 2019, 21-year-old Jaylon Ward was fatally shot in a residence on Valley View Drive in the Brierwood Bay Subdivision near Lake Palestine, Texas. A 41-year-old woman, Natalie McKenzie, was also critically injured during the incident. Emergency responders arrived at approximately 10:05 p.m. to find both individuals suffering from gunshot wounds inside the home.
