Jacob Arroyo, a 41-year-old resident of San Juan, was arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault. According to the probable cause affidavit, Arroyo became enraged after seeing Sifuentes hug his ex-girlfriend. Surveillance video from an apartment complex in the area showed Arroyo walking away from the scene after the shooting. Arroyo initially faced a potential 60-year sentence, but he eventually pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to 45 years in prison. He will be eligible for parole in 2042, although his projected release date is in 2065.
