Christopher Janice Jr., a 27-year-old man from Beaumont, Texas, tragically lost his life on June 20, 2020. He was fatally shot while trying to protect his sister from an altercation with her ex-boyfriend, Xavier Deshan Joseph, 28, at Nell's Place, a nightclub in downtown Beaumont. Janice intervened when Joseph began assaulting his sister, leading to a physical confrontation that ended with Joseph shooting Janice.
